The Crown Chakra is the centre of consciousness and represents your link with the divine. It oversees all the processes of the body and mind, so it is very important to keep it in balance. A blocked or under-active Crown Chakra leads to feelings of isolation and guilt, which can culminate in depression.
Treating your Chakra
An over-active Crown Chakra can result in egotism and obsessive and manic behaviours, which can lead to arrogant and domineering attitudes. Floral oils can be sued to antidote an over-active Crown Chakra and citrus oils to stimulate a blocked or under-active one. Indirect methods are used for treating the Crown Chakra, such as vaporisers and oil burners. You may also apply blends to pulse points at the back of the neck, put a few drops on a handkerchief or carry them around in a bottle to inhale.
Certain oils are particularly useful for working the Crown Chakra.

Oils for your Crown Chakra
Use a combination of soothing oils in your bath, in a vaporiser or simply in a handkerchief to restore your Crown Chakra and balance your emotions.
Defeating Feelings of Guilt
One feeling that can arise from a blocked Crown Chakra is guilt. You may start to feel responsible for problems that are not really your fault and your worries may escalate as you start to make mountains out of mole hills. If you find yourself feeling irrational guilt, then you need to treat it before it begins to affect your enjoyment of life.
You should make a blend to stimulate your Crown Chakra.
This can be made as a blend to apply to your pulse points or carried in a bottle to inhale.
Additionally the oils can be burned in your oil burner or added to a hot bath.
If your Crown Chakra is over-active it can lead to obsessive behaviours. This can manifest in a variety of ways, including compulsive behaviours such as fixing on a particular activity you enjoy and overdoing it. In such circumstances the Crown Chakra needs to be calmed down using scents that will antidote it.
It's important that your use of aromatherapy oils does not become obsessive behaviour in itself, so you might want to consider methods that don't require your input, such as putting a few drops on your pillow at night or burning incense cones or a home-made blend in your vaporiser.
