Energy: Understanding Chakra Antidotes

An antidote is something you are given to counteract a particular poison. In terms of your body, Chakra antidotes are tools you can use to counteract an imbalance in your Chakras when they become too open or over-stimulated, which can damage your health and personality.

A Balancing Act

It may be that some of your Chakras are too open, or too stimulated. The beauty of using appropriate Chakra antidotes and incorporating them in your environment is that you can work on redressing your Chakra balance even at all those times when you are not consciously thinking about it. For example, if you had a Stomach Chakra imbalance you could wear purple or a diamond, or add a few drops of relaxing rose oil to your bath.

Using your Antidotes

You can use the natural powers from music, crystals, colours and scents to relax and harmonise your seven Chakra energy centres.

Colour Antidotes

The most obvious way to use an antidote colour is to wear it. Make an effort to include more clothes of the appropriate colour (or colours) in your daily attire. Including more of the colour in your environment can be very helpful. Drapes and silks of the appropriate colour can also be put up around the house.

Home Healing

If there is a room decorated in the appropriate colour make an effort to spend more time in it. Meditating and visualising a blank wall of the colour is another technique you can use effectively to balance the Chakras.

Scent Antidotes

The great benefit of essential oils are the versatility and availability. They are absorbed through the skin and pass on their benefits to your bodies as their scents help your emotions and psyche.

You can burn the appropriate oils in an oil burner, and make a vaporiser spray for times when you are away from home. The oils can also be added to a bath, and dabbed on pusle points.

aromatherapy pillows

A few drops of the oil can also be placed on your pillow to help balance your Chakras when you are sleeping.

Musical Antidotes

Music can have a very soothing effect on you. Ambient music can restore balanced Chakras. By playing music at the same pitch as the natural harmonic of an imbalanced Chakra you encourage it to return to its natural rhythm.

Balancing Music

This is a very useful and powerful way to help your Chakras and should be used as much as possible. Music can be played not only when you are meditating, but also at a low volume when you are doing other activities, anything from talking on the telephone to cooking.

Crystal Anitdotes

Like essential oils, crystals can be used in a wide variety of ways. Crystals may be worn as jewellery or carried about on your person to ensure you are constantly receiving the benefits of their energies.

Crystal Effects

You can also put crystals in rooms around your home, and under your pillow for when you are sleeping, so they are constantly in your environment helping you harmonise your Chakras.

Chakra crystals

Meditating regularly for a few minutes with the crystal help against your body in the area of the imbalance Chakra will also help give it a boost to return to its natural rhythm.
