The Sacral Chakra is located in the spine, just below the navel. This Chakra is associated with many of life's sweeter things such as pleasure, sexuality, nurturing, change and creativity (including procreation). It is the centre of realisation of polarity, the balance of opposites, and it affects your desire to interact with others.
Flow and Change
The Sacral Chakra is associated with the element of water and so influences flow in your body and governs the bladder, kidneys and circulatory system. Balance this Chakra to help you appreciate pleasures and be able to accept change to create the life you want to live. It enables you to express yourself openly, to be playful, sensual, nurturing or sexual.Through the Sacral Chakra you taste the fruit of your actions.

Working the Sacral Chakra
Use these methods to maintain the perfect balance in your Sacral Chakra and ensure that you continue to feel its many benefits.
Stimulating with Exercise
Begin this exercise for your Sacral Chakra by standing up straight, with your knees slightly bent and your pelvis dropped forward. Keeping your knees bent and flexible, rotate your pelvis in gradually decreasing clockwise circles, and then slowly increase the circle rotation size. Repeat the exercise, this time rotating in anticlockwise circles.
Getting it Right
Your head and feet should remain completely still while you are doing this exercise, and the movement you are seeking to emulate is similar to those used in belly dancing. Repeat the exercise six times in each direction.
Calming with Aromatherapy
Anoint yourself with a few drops of chamomile, lavender or ylang ylang essential oil just below the naval. Lie down on your bed and relax, breathing deeply, inhale to a count of four, and exhale for a count of eight.
Allow the relaxing and soothing energy of the oil to soak into your body, and feel it calming the Sacral Chakra as you continue to breathe deeply for a few minutes longer.
Relaxing Meditation
Lie on the floor with your arms at 45 degrees to your body, and your knees bent so that your feet are pulled up to your body, with the soles touching each other. This will stimulate your Sacral Chakra.
Flowing Tides
Now meditate for a few minutes on your Sacral Chakra and feel its energy moving like the flowing tides. Visualise orange energy flowing around your body and back to your Scral Chakra.
Calming with Crystals
Begin by anointing the pulse points on your wrists with frankincense oil.
Then sit cross-legged, breathe deeply and hold a piece of aquamarine or rutile quartz just below your navel.
Calming Energy
Close your eyes, relax and say, "Through balance I am open to change, and can create the future I desire". Sit still for a few minutes and allow the calming energy of the crystal to balance your Sacral Chakra.
