THE BREATH OF LIFE

Chakra-Aligned Practice Guide
Part 1: Overview & Chakras

Overview

The Breath Of Life is a transformative breathwork practice that connects you to the universal heartbeat through three complete breath cycles that flow through your body and chakra centers, creating a circuit of energy between you, the earth, and cosmic consciousness.

Complete Practice Structure:

  • 1 Breath Cycle: 3 breaths = 72 seconds (1 minute 12 seconds)
  • Complete Practice: 3 sets × 3 breaths = 9 total breaths
  • Total Practice Time: 216 seconds (3 minutes 36 seconds)

Each Individual Breath:

  • Breath 1: IN (8) + HOLD (4) + OUT (8) + HOLD (4) = 24 seconds
  • Breath 2: IN (8) + HOLD (4) + OUT (8) + HOLD (4) = 24 seconds
  • Breath 3: IN (8) + HOLD (4) + OUT (8) + HOLD (4) = 24 seconds

Chakra Integration: As breath moves through the body, it activates and balances the seven major and ten minor chakra centers, creating energetic alignment from root to crown. Completing 3 full sets deepens and solidifies this energetic activation.

The Seven Major Chakras

The breath flows through and activates these primary energy centers:

  • Root Chakra (Muladhara) — Base of spine/ground — Red — Grounding, stability, survival
  • Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) — Lower abdomen — Orange — Creativity, emotions, sexuality
  • Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) — Upper abdomen — Yellow — Personal power, confidence
  • Heart Chakra (Anahata) — Center of chest — Green — Love, compassion, connection
  • Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) — Throat — Blue — Communication, expression, truth
  • Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) — Forehead — Indigo — Intuition, insight, wisdom
  • Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) — Top of head — Violet — Spiritual connection, consciousness

Minor Chakras

The breath also activates these vital secondary energy centers along the pathway:

  • Palm Chakras — Center of hands — Silver/White — Energy entry and exit points, giving and receiving
  • Foot Chakras — Soles of feet — Brown/Earth — Grounding, earth connection, stability
  • Shoulder Chakras — Shoulders — Turquoise — Responsibility, carrying burdens, release
  • Knee Chakras — Knees — Light Brown — Flexibility, humility, forward movement
  • Elbow Chakras — Elbows — Pale Blue — Flexibility in giving and receiving, adaptation

Integration: The Breath Of Life uniquely activates both major and minor chakras, creating complete energetic alignment throughout the entire body.

Practice Structure: The 9-Breath Journey

The Breath Of Life is practiced in 3 complete sets

SET 1: Foundation & Grounding (Breaths 1-3)

The first cycle establishes your energetic foundation, connecting you deeply to the earth and beginning chakra activation.

SET 2: Deepening & Integration (Breaths 4-6)

The second cycle deepens your connection, strengthening energy flow through all chakras and integrating body, mind, and spirit.

SET 3: Expansion & Unity (Breaths 7-9)

The third cycle brings full energetic alignment, expanding your consciousness and uniting your personal energy with the universal heartbeat.

Why 9 Breaths? The number 9 represents completion and spiritual enlightenment. Three sets of three creates a powerful sacred geometry that allows for full energetic transformation—the first set opens, the second integrates, the third transcends.
