THE BREATH OF LIFE

Chakra-Aligned Practice Guide
Part 3: Learning & Completion

Learning Tips

For First-Time Practitioners:

  • Walk through the pathway first — Trace the route with your finger on the image before breathing
  • Start with one set — New practitioners can begin with just 3 breaths (1 set) and build up to the full 9-breath practice
  • Master the pattern — Feel comfortable with the three-breath cycle before adding multiple sets
  • Add the count gradually — Once comfortable with the route, introduce the 4-2-4-2 count
  • Emphasize visualization — The energy flow and chakra awareness is as important as the physical breath
  • Build endurance — Work up to the full 9 breaths (3 sets) over several practice sessions

Key Focus Points:

  • Hands (Palm Chakras): Silver/white energy entry/exit points — keep awareness on palms, feel the giving and receiving
  • Shoulders (Shoulder Chakras): Turquoise collection and release points — feel the gathering, release burdens
  • Crown (Crown Chakra): Violet connection to universal consciousness
  • Feet (Foot Chakras): Brown/earth grounding points — strong connection to Earth’s energy
  • Elbows (Elbow Chakras): Pale blue flexibility in energy flow
  • Knees (Knee Chakras): Light brown flexibility and forward movement
  • Earth below: Not just the floor — visualize deep into the ground, infinite earth energy
Complete Activation: The Breath Of Life is unique in activating both major chakras (7) and minor chakras (10), creating total energetic alignment.

Common Challenges:

  • Losing count: Start with shorter counts (2-1-2-1) and build up, or begin with just 1 set (3 breaths)
  • Forgetting the path: Keep the visual reference nearby, especially when moving through multiple sets
  • Rushing: Each count should feel spacious, not hurried — quality over speed, especially across 9 breaths
  • Shallow breathing: Encourage full, deep breaths that fill the entire pathway
  • Mental fatigue: The 9-breath practice requires sustained focus — this builds with practice
  • Physical fatigue: You may feel lightheaded initially — remember to breathe naturally if needed and build up gradually
  • Losing track of sets: Use finger counting (1 finger per set) or keep a mental note of which set you’re on

Creating Sacred Space

Before beginning the 9-breath journey:

  • Find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed for at least 3-5 minutes
  • Sit or stand in a comfortable position
  • Keep spine lengthened, body relaxed
  • Place hands in a receptive position (palms slightly open)
  • Take a few natural breaths to center yourself
  • Set an intention to complete all 9 breaths and connect with the universal heartbeat
  • Acknowledge that you are beginning a sacred journey through three complete cycles

Completing Your Practice

Progression Through the Sets:

  • After Set 1 (3 breaths): Take a moment to notice the initial energy activation. Feel your connection to earth strengthening.
  • After Set 2 (6 breaths total): Notice the deepening sensation. Your chakras are now fully engaged and energy flows more freely.
  • After Set 3 (9 breaths total): Rest in the complete activation. You have completed the full energetic circuit three times.

Between Sets:

You may choose to:

  • Flow continuously: Move directly from the end of one set into the next without pause (more dynamic)
  • Pause briefly: Take 2-3 natural breaths between sets to integrate (more meditative)

Choose the approach that feels most natural to your practice.

After Completing Your Cycles:

  • Take 3-5 natural breaths
  • Notice how your body feels after the complete 9-breath journey
  • Acknowledge the triple activation of your energetic system
  • Feel the depth of connection you’ve created with earth and cosmos
  • Gently return awareness to your surroundings
  • Carry this expanded connection with you throughout your day

Integration Note

The 9-breath practice creates a profound energetic shift. You may feel deeply grounded yet expanded, calm yet energized. This is the balance of complete chakra activation. Honor this state and allow yourself time to integrate before returning to daily activities.
